Ronalee Crocker - "Eight Bosc Pears" - oil on canvas - 15" x 30"
We just received three new paintings from Ronalee Crocker. These are in keeping with her highly collected style of still lifes of fruit painted against a dark background giving them added contrast and visual ‘punch’. Her concept of the dark background keeps the focus on the fruit and does not distract you from exploring the beautifully depicted fruit. The singularity of the overall image is conceptually quite contemporary, although the use of strong contrast of light and dark have clear a history pointing back to Old Masters such as Caravaggio, Velazquez, and Rembrandt.
